It does not take a genius to know that if these people really had a jewel of a secret in their ebook about how to make money online then you can bet that they would not be telling all of us. Think about it: if you had a surefire way to make millions of dollars online, would you publicize it? The fact is that these sites are only turning a profit by selling the idea of making money online in some form or another, whether it be an ebook or a program or a website or an email list. By the way, when you sign up for that email list you will be inundated with sales pitches for the rest of your born days. Marketers know all too well that the value is not in selling you one item and them having you leave for good, the real value is in the list that they can accumulate because then they can sell you many times over. So from this day forward, throw all your ideas of 'free ways to make money online' out the window and get ready to accept a cold fact: that there is no shortcut to making money online; you must work for it. And while we are at it, lets dispense with another all too common misconception: that it takes money to make money. Not true. Good day mates. I thought that today I would make a short no-nonsense post on how I can make money online. Now, I am not going to lie to you and claim that I make thousands of dollars per day, but my income from online is starting to get up to about $100 per day.. not bad for me. This is really something that anyone can do and all it takes is a bit of effort. Okay, maybe more that a 'bit'.

Keep in mind that I did not make any money whatsoever for about the first six months or so. Oh sure, the occasional five or ten bucks per month but it really didn't become a consistent source of money until about four months ago. Here is all it takes, at least to get started. Before we get too far along, I want to say that you should not rely on one source of information to educate yourself. Nobody can give you all the answers, but you can certainly learn pieces from each individual. I learned most of what I know about how I can earn money online from Griz, Vic, and Courtney; three names that you should familiarize yourself with if you have not already done so.

How Can I make Money Online? First step is to get a blog. I like to use blogger, and for several reasons: it is free, it is search engine friendly, it is easy to work with, and is sufficiently customizable. Creating a blog should not be the first thing that you do, however.

The very first thing that you should do is to research the keywords that you will be targeting. Use the Google Adwords Keyword tool (google it) for this if you do not have other software. It is also free to use. Try to select a keyword or key phrase that receives a fair amount of searches but don't get greedy. Usually, the more a keyword or key phrase is searched for, the more competition there will be for it. Example: do not pick 'knitting' because you will never make it to page one with that general terms as there are already over 5,000,000 sites on that. Instead, hone it down to a very specific subsidiary of knitting, such as 'free best cross-stitching patterns' or something of that nature. The reason that you want to select your key phrases first is because you will want to put those keywords IN your blog title and in your headings. I suggest selecting two or three that are all closely related. Do this tonight and create your blog based on your key phrase.

If you are new here, then please start at the beginning . These posts are put here in order but they show up last one first, as you know.
Please know that these suggestions on how for making money online for teens include only options that require a bit of hard work. The flipside is that they generally do not require you to spend money, like so many other so-called 'I am going to help you" programs.

Free NEVER means free

You know these all too well.. they say 'free' when you do the search or in the title but when you actually get done reading all the sales crap and bogus endorsements you find at the bottom of the page that they are trying to sell you something. Most of these are affiliate links. You can tell an affiliate link because it will show up at the bottom of your browser with a tag at the end of the internet address. The tag will look something like id=1022 or aff=666. You may have also seen those websites that offer free downloads -- all you have to do is enter an email address. Guys, I cannot stress this enough: do not give out your primary email. Go to gmail or yahoo or mail.com and set up a throw-away email address that you can use for all your registrations and for your online identity. Don't use your own name. I can't believe that I have to say that.

Don't select topics that are Flooded with sites
otherwise you will not make money.
If you want to start a blog and you want to make some money from it, then don't do what 80% of newbs do: they see a successful blog like courts or griz's or vic's and they immediately copy it. Anyway the real point of this paragraph is to stress that you should not copy the SUBJECTS that are already overly blog-heavy. The only exception to this is if you can rank for the longtail that nobody has yet. More on this later.

If you are a teen who wants to make money onine, then don't fall for the Look at all my checks ! scheme :
The latest trend in conning people out of their money is to show cutout versions of checks. Money making claims backed up by actual shots of the check -- wow, what could be better? This guy MUST be telling the truth. I better order his product immediately. Okay everyone, if I go do a search for 'income checks' on google images, i only get 4.7 million results. I'm sure nobody would be faking these.

The best way to make honest money online is to sell a product. Yes, an actual palpable thing. Let me just say that I am a big believer in getting quality for my dollar and you should be too. Ultimately, your customer will feel the same. Here are some quick tips so that you can begin making money online right now. Number One Tip for Making Money Online : Get Ye a Product!An easy way to do this is to do a bit of online shopping. Check out the main sites like ebay and amazon and cruise around until you find something that your could see yourself selling. Please don't rely on your memory; write the ideas down. Do you like to cook? If so, what are some of your most-used kitchen gadgets? Which ones are just counterspace wasters? Are the alternative products for the ones you dislike? How about cookbooks themselves? Pots and pans have good margins too.
Do you enjoy the web or just being on the computer? What programs on your computer do you use? This category is so broad that it pays to get specific. Remember to write down all ideas, even if you do not see a profit angle yet. We'll get to that in a bit.
Do you own a PDA or MP3 player? Do you have accessories to it? If so, then check out the competition and see what they are selling and note the prices. Usually, the less the price, the less the margin. But sales quantities (volume) could compensate for this.

I could go on and on with suggestions but you get the idea: just look around the internet until you see something you'd like to sell.
Number Two Tip for How to Make Money : Find ye a supplier !
Ok this part of the equation isn't really advice; it is more common sense. Monkey proof even (apologies to my monkey readers). Just type your product name into the search box and Shazaam! Thousands of suppliers vying for your affection will be at your doorstep. Don't pay much attention to the word "wholesale" as many sellers advertise this way but their prices are actually much higher. Many savvy resellers even buy their products from auction sites and then market them ON THE SAME site. Oh, the gaul of some folks. Ya, auction items are flipped just like houses.

Next : Build Ye a Website !
This one is also monkey proof. Fortunately for you, there are many out there that know better info on this than I do. There are also plenty of free web hosting companies to choose from. If you just want to test a product and don't really want to go crazy, the just keep your website to the ones provided for free by the online auctions. But at some later date, if the product seems to be selling well, then by all means create a Flagship site so that you can link to from all your auctions.

Making money online is not an easy task, yet most attribute this career to the professional marketing companies and ebay wizards. However, there are some teens who have figured out that they can pull down a pretty decent income from the internet. How can teens make money online ? Well, there are numerous ways but one that is becoming the most popular and seeminly the easiest route is to create an online blog.

Cool thing is that there are many sites that allow you to set up as many posts as you want to, all for free. After you read this article, go check out Blogger.com or Squidoo.com. They offer free website creation and they baby-walk you through it (believe me: if I can do it, then it is totally idiot proof)

Okay, so how do teens make money by setting up a website ? The quick answer is that if you want to earn money from your site then you must monetize it. This is a fancy term meaning you must put advertisements of some kind on it so that you can get paid when people click on them.

There are many programs that you can look into for this: Google offers Adsense (free), which I prefer because it is automated. You can construct your site's premise on pretty much anything, apply for an Adsense account, and then wait for the googlebot to automatically populate your webpage with premade block ads. Sounds easy eh? Ok, well if your out to make some good money then that part IS the easy part. Gets tougher as we go. Trouble is that it is difficult to get people to visit your site in the first place, much less armtwisting them into clicking on the ads.

Google has special rules which basically disallow you to beg or con people into clicking (they want only natural clicks). Ok, so how can you make money if you don't know how to get people to come to your new, cool looking MotoCross website with the mud splashed all over the screen? The quick answer is that you CAN'T! So let's get people! There are many ways to get people to want to check out your site. I find that the easiest is to write a cool article about the same topic as my site is about and to submit it to as many websites as I can. Choosing a Topic or Product for your Website

Now we are going to discuss how to choose a topic or product for your blog or website. If you are not wanting to spend any money up front, then you will need to choose a topic or category that you feel fairly comfortable discussing, describing or giving the how-to on. This could be things like computer games, online multi-player games, how to program in HTML, IPOD for Dummies, etc. Just pick any topic that you are familiar with. Let's concentrate on a topic (or niche) for now. Remember, our goal topic is how teens can make money online, so keep in mind that you don't have to be in love with your topic to make money. I'll post about choosing a product later.

You do not have to be an expert. We'll talk about why you don't need to be an expert in a bit.I am not very computer literate (okay, I'm a complete fail !), so I chose "how to cook smoked ribs" for my first topic. So, if you cannot decided on a general category but you know how to do one particular thing (like a recipe, or jailbreaking an ipod, or gearing out your shamen) then start with that one thing. You can always expand later. The topic does NOT have to be aimed at adults. More teens and kids are on the net than adults.

Just remember that the key here in choosing a topic is to select one that somebody might do a search for. Choosing a overly unique topic such as "how to get the cabin light in my Dad's Volvo to quick flickering" will not elicit many searches. On the other hand, try not to choose a topic that is so broad that you will never get to the top of Google. You don't want anything close to "how to make money online" unless you want to have to compete with millions and millions of others. So, yes, I am doing this blog without hopes of making money.

Suggestions if you are still stuck: Okay so you've racked your brain for a topic and come up empty. Now what? Well, not everyone can be the first one to make a blog about the topic, so don't feel bad if you need to surf the web in order to come up with an idea. Choosing a topic is NOT the most crucial step; especially for your first go-around. Take a ride around the internet and see what others are doing: check out Yahoo Answers, look around your house for an indication of things you like -- pets? tv's? computers? dolls? (uh, I mean action figures), sports teams? music? star trek? star wars? tv shows? science (lol).

Ok, lets assume that now you must have a topic (if not, then make one up). If you still cannot think of one thing that you know how to do or that you are interested in then pick something you know zilch about and do some research on the internet. Sometimes, it's enough for the author of the site to just start the conversation or to get the ball rolling a bit. Once you have a topic or category, then Google it and see what kind of things will be your competition. Skim through those websites and take note of the cool things they have or offer. Spend several hours doing this and max out your knowledge on the subject. Experienced online marketers will say that this is backwards; that you should actually research your topic thoroughly by examining the competition first, but for now lets familiarize you with the process. All the rest of the stuff won't make sense to you until you've made a dry run through this. Get a topic. In order for teens to make money online, they often times have to think of some topic that few others have even thought of but one that there may be some searches for.

Lets start this tutorial with some simple terms that will help you make money online. Although there are many ways for teens to make money online, we will start with the Free Money Making first. When I say "make money free", I do NOT mean without any work, but rather that you do not have to pay any money to start.Try to read through them several times so it sticks in your memory. This guide is for teenagers who are beginners in the internet marketing world.

SEO - Search Engine Optimization : this refers to getting your particular website recognized by the various search engines, namely Google (tm). If you do a search for this term, then you will find millions of websites that pop up offering countless ways to help you climb the search engine ladder. This is the most important term to familiarize yourself with as it will make or break your website. Good SEO brings in clicks whereas bad SEO brings only disappointment.
Backlink : a link on another website or web page that links directly back to your website. This term is your lifeblood and is your main influence in your overall search engine ranking. I'll speak more about this later.

CLR : - this means ' Click - Through - Rate '. This refers to the advertising that may appear on your website and is usually expressed as a percentage. It is the percentage of visitors that actually click on one of your advertisements. So if you get 100 visitors and 10 click on one of your ads, then your CLR would 10%. CLR percentages usually vary but, in my opinion, anywhere between 4% and 10% is great. I'll talk more about advertising soon.

KEYWORDS : Keywords are simply the main words that are contained within your website that describe what your content is about; the most significant words relative to your content. Search engines scan all the content of your web page and try to determine which ones point to it's main topic. This is how they classify and eventually rank your site in there searches. For example, if you make a site about fishing supplies, then somewhere within the page there will be "key" words, such as bait, fishing poles, hooks, worms, string, lures, etc. The search engines will send a automated robot to thoroughly scan your webpages and from that information they will catalog your site.

MONETIZE : To add money making potential to your website. This simply means that you add some feature to your site that enable you to convert traffic that visits the site into actual money. Popular methods of doing this vary but one of the most prevelant (and free, btw) is to use Google Adsense (tm). This is basically an automated advertising program that intuitively scans your site for content keywords and identifies your site. The program then posts pre-made advertisements onto your site. Each time somebody clicks on one of the ads, you will make a small amount of money. There is much, much more to this and many rules to follow, so be sure to search "adsense" and read up on it. Other popular ways to monetize your site include affiliate marketing, BANS sites, surveys, email gathering, etc. My suggestion is to stick to Adsense if you are a beginner. I will discuss this further in an upcoming post.

SERPs :
Search Engine Results PagesThe pages of results that appear after a search is made.

While there are literally thousands of marketing terms and tools on the internet these days, I believe that these are the most important for teens who are beginners at internet marketing. Most of the other terms are better learned when doing.
